Early Years
My earliest memories of where my food passion came from was of traveling to a farm, we would take along a large milk churn to have it filled with raw milk. This would be the main ingredient to start the process of make homemade halloumi. It was fascinating to watch and learn, taking a liquid and turning it into a solid, curds and whey, Halloumi and Anari, delicious Cypriot homemade cheeses.
I have a passion not only in creating quality food photography but also sourcing great ingredients to create quality meals for my friends and family. My teenage years opened a door to a creative career path. An "Art and Foundation" course introduced me to many different creative subjects which led me to branch out into photography. This led to four more year's studying photography, two years at Mid-Chester college which I was awarded student of the year, there after securing a place at "Blackpool & The Fylde " where I completed a Higher National Diploma and PQE in photography.
Moved to London in the early 90’s and to this day
After working with some wonderful inspiring people within the industry, I went it alone in the mid 90’s.
I was lucky to have landed my own commissioned work straight away with some prestigious clients as a still-life advertising photographer.
Clients included campaign’s for: Kronenbourg 1664, Compaq, and Kodak, I then gradually started to steer towards food clients.
Food clients ranged from a mixture of backgrounds, editorial magazines, packaging, advertising campaigns, and direct with small businesses .Clients include: Nestle, Sainsbury’s, Sub-Zero & Wolf, Waitrose, Green Giant, KraftHeinz, Heston, Didier’s Patisserie, Laithwaites Wines, and Marks & Spencer to name a few.
Awards & Accolades
My fondest memory was when I was invited to the Ukraine by the British Council to
represent photographers of Britain at the International Europe Day in Kyiv. This involved speeches and lectures based outdoors on a podium at their street festival and delivering a masterclass of a still-life food shoot within a lecture hall. The organizers were amazing, the public was amazing, it was such an inspirational awesome experience.Winning Novartis & Visions of Science award, Awards Ceremony held at ‘The Royal Society’
Becoming a finalist of the Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year 2023 competition
Where am I Based
I am a London photographer, based in High Barnet, North London.
My space has been carefully considered to compliment the running of a food and still-life shoot. The maximum we have had on a large shoot has been 14 people which was a welcome challenge.
I love working together with the talented people of our industry.
From pre-production meetings to post-production, coming together, and embracing challenges.Workspace
